Bhujanga means snake, this posture is performed lying on the ground face down and when raising the trunk, it resembles a snake about to attack.
From Ashtanga namaskarasana slide your body forward, stretch your legs on the ground, put your feet together, with your toes pointing backwards. The pelvis should be in retroversion by pressing on the ground and your pubis area in contact with the floor. Inhale and elevate the trunk, contract your thighs and buttocks as you push your chest forward and arch your head back. If the back is not very flexible the arms should remain bent with the elbows next to the body and pointing backwards.
