Ashwa means horse. Sanchalana means movement or step. Ásana means posture. This asana is known as “the equestrian posture”.
From Padahastasna extend your spine forward, inhale and stretch your right leg back by putting your toes on the ground. The left foot should remain between the hands, bend the left knee and place it above the ankle and pointing towards the toes of the front foot. Place the right knee on the ground and push the hip down and forward, the left knee should remain perpendicular to the ground. Lift the sternum, push it forward and look at the front.
